As of 14 August 2023, the C-Foundation is formally a “not-for-profit” organization, recognized by the Dutch tax office (the C-Foundation has an “ANBI status” in the Netherlands and your donations are eligible for tax-deductability). With this status, comes the responsibility to publish certain information. All this information will be provided or linked to through this page.

Remuneration
Board members do not receive compensation for their activities. Board members are entitled to expense reimbursements and a non-excessive attendance fee. In 2023, no expense reimbursements or attendance fees have been paid. The Foundation does not have any staff members.

Gabriel de Scheemaker
Chair
Gabriel has some 35 years experience assessing and managing energy investments in O&G and New Energy ventures, such as hydrogen and algae. After 21 years in big corporate he became an entrepreneur and (co-)founded high-tech startups, such as LeydenJar Technologies. He has assessed energy project proposals for the European Commission. He studied Electrical Engineering at Delft University of Technology (MSc) and International Finance at New York University (MBA). Read more…

Virginia Corless
Vice Chair
Virginia is a multidisciplinary leader in commercializing sustainable solutions for energy, water, and agriculture, and is currently CEO of MOA Technology. She was the Chief Growth Officer at soil-health innovator Novihum Technologies following roles at the Sahara Forest Project and as a science policy fellow in the U.S. Senate. She studied astrophysics at MIT and completed her PhD as a Marshall Scholar at the University of Cambridge. Read more…

Pieter has over 45 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, with a focus on novel technologies and innovative approaches to improve the lifecycle value of Oil and Gas assets and reduce the adverse impact of Upstream activities on the environment.
